I made these earrings from the fore wings of my favorite butterfly, a Common Buckeye-Junonia Coenia, a Wisconsin native.
I use hand cut, hand ground light-weight glass for ultra comfort and lead-free, jewelry safe silver solder (tin, copper, and sterling silver alloy) The earrings are 1 2/8" long and 3/4" wide. They are also reversible, one side being light and the other, dark, depending on your mood;) The last picture shows the reverse side.
Earring hooks are hypoallergenic, surgical steel.
All butterflies I use in my jewlery are either found by me already deceased or given to me as such by friends or family. Please allow for some very minor imperfections in the wing as this will always be the byproduct of a once free-flying, happy butterfly!
I accept paypal and major credit cards. Once I receive payment your order will be promptly created and then shipped.
All jewelry pieces are shipped in a small jewelry box cushioned with batting and are sent in a small bubble wrap envelope to keep costs down for you. If you would prefer the item to be gift wrapped or sent in a small flat rate priority box then let me know and I would be happy to do so.
Terrariums are shipped in 200 lb. test new boxes, wrapped in Kraft paper and string and then generously bubble wrapped. Terrariums are guaranteed only if broken during shipping. Please send a picture of broken terrarium in the box.
-I will be happy to repair any minor damage to the solder on the jewelry or earring hooks only. Butterfly wings will be damaged if I try to replace the glass.
